Unapologetic Black Female Leadership.

As Black Female Executives living at the intersections of race, gender, and for some age (younger or older), we have experienced both unconscious and conscious bias in how our leadership is received, evaluated, rewarded, and supported internally and externally.

Dream it.

BFED is re-emerging at a time when Black Women’s voices are changing the paradigm of leadership in this country. We are no longer willing to be invalidated, silenced, or sidelined

Build it.

BFED is re-emerging as a pillar to support your strength, worth, and professional development. If you would like to learn more; be involved; volunteer; or be informed about our upcoming programming, please contact us via email or phone.

Why Re-Launch Black Female Executives (BFED)?

It would be a respite from the daily code switching

— Anonymous F.

I’m not in this by myself.  BFED gave me confidence.

— Anonymous.

“Black women feel angst and isolation that others don’t think about or have to deal with.

— Anonymous P.

I let anxiety take over my life for too long. Now I have the strength to control my emotions.

— Anonymous G.

You Belong Here!

Past BFED members were unanimous in extolling the importance of BFED to their professional development and self-care.

The trust built among the members allowed them to be open and honest about their experiences as an executive director in a way they could not be with their white peers or funders.
